BHS Basketball Captain Previews Upcoming Season

BY MICHAEL KEENE

Panther News spoke with Beverly Boys’ Basketball Captain Dylan Crowley to hear his thoughts on what comes next with boys’ basketball.

How are you feeling personally about this upcoming season?

Personally, I’m ready to show people how hard I’ve been working and really do my thing.

You’ve been playing alongside most of your teammates for many years. Tell me about the team chemistry.

It’s amazing that I’ve had the opportunity to play with some of my best friends. This year means the most to us and we’ve been more locked in than ever. None of us feel nervous at all and we all click really well on the court.

What do you predict will be your highest scoring game this season and who will it be against?

Hopefully it will be anything in the thirties. Probably against Danvers.

Last year, you had a lot of rebounding talent in Sparkman and Braganca. How do you think players like Mayen Kuot and Jack Ryan can step up to fill the role?

Yeah, we won’t be missing many shots. But when we do I know they’ll be crashing for boards. I don’t think it will be a problem.

The Panther Boys’ Basketball team plays at the TD garden against Everett this season. Are you worried about the high stakes environment you will be playing in and how it affects your mentality going forward?

Not at all. I’m ready, I’m excited I’ve played there before and was able to hit a three pointer at the buzzer and I’m looking to hit more than just one this time and leave there with the win.

Do you think you will share the ball more this season?

I think I’ll average more assists. Lots of great scorers on the team this year and it will show this season.

Finally, can you give me one word to describe the team right now?

Prepared.
