Girls Varsity Volleyball Players Eye Playoff Success

Beverly Girls Varsity Volleyball lost half of their starting lineup last year. This season, a new generation of talent has rallied to power the Panthers into the playoffs.

On the cusp of playing the number five team, the Panther girls are practicing  six days a week.

“Nobody is expecting the #28 team to walk into that gym and beat #5,” Senior Captain Natalie Reynolds said. “We are ready to turn the tables and prove everyone wrong.”

The Panther girls came into the season ready to fight, starting off with huge wins against key rivals. Then, the team went on a losing streak.

“Our confidence plummeted in the middle of the season and we had a hard time picking it back up again. It was a lot of picking each other up and fun team bonding trips to places like Boda Borg,” recalled Reynolds. “Reminding each other that this team is more than just about the game is very important.”

Now, at the end of the regular season, the team is sitting comfortably at number twenty eight in the Division 1 power rankings.

“Our game is a mental game,” Reynolds said. “If we can enter their gym with a good mindset and ready to work hard, we can beat any team in the division.”
